A Deep Dish by Thomas & Townsend Compton

A Deep Dish by Thomas & Townsend Compton

Thomas & Townsend Compton were major exporters to America. Part to the Townsend Dynasty of Pewterers who were responsible for what is undoubtedly the greatest quantities of pewter sent to America from England. The Dynasty was active from 1748 through the first part of the 19th century.

This partnership was active from 1802-1814. They continued the tradition of high quality workmanship and metal.

This 13 1/8" deep dish shows use but is generally fine. Note the broad turning marks on the back of the rim. The hammering is strong and well pronounced.

Price: $395
