An English Open Salt - SOLD

An English Open Salt

This English open salt would date from the late 18th to early 19th century. This form of salt was also made in Middletown, CT by Thomas Danforth II.

The salt shows typical pitting to the inside of the bowl caused by the corrosive action of the salt.

The exterior is in very good plus condition. The salt measures 1 7/16" tall with the cup having a diameter of 2 9/16".
