Export Pewter Teapot by Hale
This teapot is marked "Hale" and is either by Hale & Sons, Bristol, England 1778-1782 or by Richard and Thomas Hale, Bristol, England 1783-1815, it is believed that several of the "Hale" touchmarks were used by both.
This teapot likely dates from the late 18th century as it still employs the use of a wood handle.
The teapot holds 24 fluid ounces. These were listed in period inventories as pint and 1/2 teapots.
This pot is in fine condition retaining it's original wood handle. The finial button has been restored. The touchmark is perfectly struck.
