This "wide belly" crown handle porringer is a type believed to have been made in the second quarter of the 19th century. The bowl has an exaggerated swell on the cross section of the bowl greater than all other forms of porringers.
The bowls are always plain without any trough in the bottom of the bowl near the boss. The quality of the metal is always fine.
