A Pewter Tablespoon by John Harrison Palethorp - SOLD

A Pewter Tablespoon by John Harrison Palethorp

This pewter tablespoon was made in the shop of John Harrison Palethorp, son of Robert and brother of Robert Palethorp Jr.
He was a pewterer and Britannia Ware maker in Philadelphia from 1820-45.
He worked in various locations in the city.
this tablespoon is in very fine condition with an "as struck" touch. It is interesting to note that the spoon is finished by scraping the back of the bowl and handle and burnishing the interior of the bowl, in the 18th century fashion. The spoon measures 8 1/8" in length. A scarce item.
