A Fine Example of a Coronet "Eared" Boston "SG" Porringer

A Fine Example of a Coronet

Very fine example of a coronet handled (ear) porringer marked with cast initials “SG”. Recent research indicates the mold for this handle may have been used by Samuel Green of Boston. It has also been widely known that this handle mold sans initials was used for a considerable period of years prior to the “SG” initials being added.

This porringer’s bowl measures 5 3/8” in diameter. The metal is very fine with a very few minor spots of etching on the inside of the bowl. The linen mark is very clear.

This “SG” is one on a number of initial handled porringers that collectively are known as initial handled Boston Porringers.

Price: $165
