A Britannia Pewter Spoon with Legionnaire's Head Design

A Britannia Pewter Tablespoon marked DSS & Co. Unknown maker. This spoon has a legionnaire’s head design cast on the upper part of the handle. William Kayhoe had a mold in his collection that had come from the shop of Luther Boardman that had this same design on the face of the handle. The back of the handle on the Boardman mold has a different design from this example.

I was unable to find any firm listed in my reference books whose initials mate up with these. The spoon measures 8 3/8” long and is in very fine condition.
