An Export Quart Taper-Sided Pewter Mug by Cornelius Swift
Quart English Export taper-sided mug by Cornelius Swift, London 1770-1814. Typically, London pewterers employed the “attention” terminal on handles on taper-sided mugs, whereas American Pewterers and those from Bristol used variants of ball terminal handles. Interestingly, London Pewterers used variants of ball terminal handles on tulip form mugs.
This mug is in very good plus condition with a fair touchmark. Items by Cornelius Swift are not very common. The mug measure 6” tall at the lip.
