A Near Mint Southern Pewter Plate by Samuel Kilbourn - SOLD

3. An American Southern Pewter Plate by Samuel Kilbourn, Baltimore 1814-1839. Kilbourn lived in Hartford, Connecticut from 1796-1813 and received his training from Thomas Danforth III who lived in Rocky Hill.

This 7 ¾” single reed rim plate is in near mint condition with clear lathe marks both on the face surface and back of the rim. The marks are mint “as struck”. It would be hard to find a finer example.
