A Unmarked New England Pewter Beaker

This fine condition pewter beaker is typical of the 3" range beaker made by a considerable number of pewterers in the early to mid 19th century.

This example measures 2 13/16" tall and shows little wear. Of interest is the interior casting fault. Note the lathe turnings right over the defect. Apparently this defect was not considered "bad" enough to throw the whole piece back in the melting pot. It held liquid, therefore "close enough for government work"!!
