This scarce soap box is made by Oliver Trask, of Beverly, MA working from around 1825-30’s.
Work by Oliver is considerably scarcer than that of Israel Trask.
This attractive box utilizes a hinge of the type the Trasks used on pear form teapots. The lid has a most interesting form and the body is decorated with knurled band decoration.
This is in near fine condition with some etching on the interior of the box. The lid diameter is 3 5/8” and the height is 1 9/16”. A most uncommon item by this maker.
