A John Townsend Pint Export Pewter Teapot - SOLD
John Townsend is probably the best known of all Export Pewterers. His career spanned a half century from 1748 until his death in 1801. He had a goodly number of partnerships including one with his son-in-law, Thomas Compton from 1784-1802.
This teapot would date circa 1748 to 1770's. It is in very good plus condition. There is some interior pitting.
This teapot also retains its original wood handle. The wood button is a replacement. The teapot measures 5 1/2" tall to the top of the finial. We obtained this at a very fair price and are passing on the savings to you. Modestly priced
