A Civil War Tumbler Punch
Occasionally, parts on a musket lock would break requiring field service. This tumbler punch was used to remove the hammer from the lock. The soldier would unscrew the hammer screw insert the larger diameter punch into the screw hole and give a strong tap to the back of the punch. This would free the hammer from the tumbler enabling the soldier to disassemble the lock and replace a broken part. A spring vice was also needed during this process.
In fine condition measuring 3 1/2" long.
Price: $28
