A Civil War Enlistedman's Drinking Cup - SOLD

A Civil War Enlistedman's Drinking Cup

During the Civil War many items were issued to individual soldiers. One of the basic items was a tin cup for drinking water, coffee or an occasional adult beverage.
This cup is the standard pattern with wires from the handle being looped through the upper side of the cup and over the top lip. This gave the attachment of handle additional strength as compared to handle that were just soldered on. The lower handle attachment was riveted as well as soldered for durability to stand up to the rigors of military life.
This example is sound with some surface rust. 4" tall to lip
