A "Pair" of John Kachel Coverlets, Hannah Yocom 1840

A

This "pair" of coverlets were made by John Kachel, a coverlet weaver from Robeson Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania.

This coverlet has the name Hannah Yocom 1840 in the corner block, the other coverlet has Catharine Yocom...I suspect they are sisters. The coverlets have the identical pattern, further the colors of the wool appear to be from the same dye lot. The only difference save for their names is the color of the block end of the coverlets, the green/blue/red wools are opposite.

This coverlet is very fine, retains it's full fringe with vibrant colors. This measures 84" wide X 95" long not including fringe. The price is for the "pair". There are a very few minor moth "nips"on this.(W&P)

Price: $2250
