This bayonet scabbard was made under contract for the United States Army by Young of Newark, N. J.

The maker's name and inspector's mark are stamped on the buff frog. They are difficult to see due to the irregular surface of the buff leather.
The scabbard body has crazing on the leather surface, all seams are tight and the tip and frog are solidly attached. The body is strong and free of any breaks.
