An Unmarked Pewter Ladle of the Mid Nineteeth Century - SOLD

An Unmarked Pewter Ladle of the Mid Nineteeth Century

This wood handle ladle is typical of those made by many of the Britannia Companies producing wears during the 19th century.

The turned wood handle is set into the pewter shaft. Some ladles similar to this one actually had the handle threaded and the metal shaft was threaded to accompany the wood.

This is a cast ladle. It is in very good condition with an area of pitting near the handle attachment on the back of the bowl. The ladle measures 14 3/8" long.
