American Pewter > Porringers
This type of handle is found both on English as well as porringers made in Boston in the 18th and into the beginning of the 19th centuries. The "Boteh" handle design is a name for the curved openings which look very much like paisley designs. Some examples have been found with raised cast initials "SG" on the back of the handle. This porringer has a bowl diameter of 4 7/8", it is in very fine condition. The handle is planished and is likely of 18th century manufacture.
