An 18th Century Coronet Eared Porringer

An 18th Century Coronet Eared Porringer

18th century coronet eared porringer either American or English Export. For years these were referred to as “crown handle” porringers when in fact the design is that of a coronet. Note that the bosses and surrounding decorations are flattened plannished by hammering. This technique was utilized on 18th century porringers the practice ended toward the end of that century.

The bowl of this porringer measure 5 5/16” in diameter. The linen mark is quite strong. The porringer is in near fine condition showing little wear or abuse. I would date this circa 1750-80

Price: $365
