A 5 ¼” flower handle porringer by William Calder, Providence, Rhode Island, 1817-56. This porringer is in nearly mint condition with a mint as struck touchmark. Note the sunken area on the linen mark. showing that when the metal for the handle was poured it was of a very hot temperature not only sufficient enough to melt fully through the metal of the body leaving the fabric impression clearly visible but so hot that when it cooled it contracted leaving this void.
This porringer is as nice as they come and would be a fine addition to a collection of porringers.
