A 4 ¼” flower handle porringer by William Calder, Providence, Rhode Island, 1817-56. This porringer is in nearly mint condition with a mint as struck touchmark. The linen mark is excellent showing that when the metal for the handle was poured it was of an adequate temperature to melt fully through the metal of the body leaving the fabric impression clearly visible.
Finding pewter in this condition is a real treasure. This example would be hard to improve upon. (ON HOLD)
