An Old English Handled Porringer by Thomas D.Boardman & Sherman Boardman

A 4” bossed-bellied bowl porringer with Old English Handle by Thomas Danforth Boardman and his brother Sherman. 1808-60’s This porringer was likely made prior to the mid 1830’s as porringers fell out of popularity after that.

This porringer is in very good plus condition with a slight amount of porosity on the inside of the bowl the exterior is fine. The touch is strongly struck on the face of the handle. The lathe marks show clearly on the back of the bowl. The linen mark is clearly present. A nice example of a Boardman porringer
