An Antique American Pewter Inverted Mold Teapot by George Richardson
This inverted mold teapot was made by George Richardson, Cranston, RI. Richardson began working is Boston in 1818 and continued there until 1828 when he moved to Rhode Island.
This handsome teapot has an excellent form and sense of balance. It is in fine condition with a few small areas of etching on the body.
Of note is the G. Richardson touchmark. It was struck "heavy" to the lower edge, so much so in fact that it caused the metal on the inside of the teapot to "telescope" inward. See arrows on photos showing this.
This teapot measures 7 1/4" to the top of the finial
