An Extended Base Pear Form Pewter Teapot by Timothy Boardman & Company
Certainly, one of the finest extended base pear form Connecticut teapots in existence made by Timothy Boardman & Co. 1822-1825. This form was created by utilizing two castings of the upper body of a pear form teapot. This is essentially an inverted mold teapot.
This example is as fine an example as any we have ever seen. The castings are substantial and beautifully finished. The touchmark is clearly struck on the outside bottom of the teapot. The round form spout is somewhat uncommon as this style of teapot is frequently seen with the faceted spout. The interior is equally fine and free of distress.
The teapot measures 9 1/4" tall to top of the finial and a base diameter of 3 3/8"
Price: $985
