A Scarce One-Cup Boardman & Hart Inverted Mold Teapot

A Scarce one cup inverted mold teapot by Boardman & Hart, New York. The Boardmans made two early design one cup teapots, one with an urn shaped body the other style is the one shown here. An inverted mold form.. This particular body style is also found in an extremely large variety as well as a number of intermediate sizes.

This example is in near fine condition. There is a slight amount of etching on the top of the teapot where the lid rests. Elsewhere the surface in fine.

The interior is in fine condition. The touches are clearly struck on the outside bottom. An identical example is shown as figure 134 in Connecticut Pewter and Pewterers. This is only the second example of this particular teapot we have had.

The teapot measures 5" tall to top of the finial and a base diameter of 3 5/8" the original finial button is present with a chip out of it
