An Inverted Mold A. Porter Pewter Teapot - SOLD
Allen Porter worked in Westbrook, Maine, circa 1830-40. He is known for the consistent quality of his workmanship. His designs were pleasing as well.
This pewter teapot is typical of his later design in fact it is strikingly similar to those made by Freeman Porter(see example we have listed). Other than using a different spout they both appear to be from the same set of molds.
This example measures 7" tall to the top of the finial. It is in very fine condition save for a few pits on the bottom near the touchmark. We got this at a good price and are pricing it accordingly.
