A Superb Flat Rim Pewter Plate by John Skinner - SOLD

John Skinner was a Boston Pewterer working from before the Revolution starting in 1760. He continued in the trade until 1790.

Over the years we have had some fine examples of Flat Rim Plates by him, however this is the finest example we have ever offered.

The face of the rim still clearly shows the lathe marks as does the back of the rim. The hammered Booge is beautifully done and the hammering sharp and clear. The touchmarks are mint! The plate measures 8 7/8" in diameter.

A super plate worthy of any collection.
