A Heavily Used Treenware Plate

This treenware plate saw heavy use in fact the backside has considerable numbers of knife marks. 19th century.

Perhaps the owners ate two parts of a meal at one sitting using first one side and then the other or perhaps the back served as a cutting board.

Too bad these items can't talk.

The plate measures 8 11/16" against the grain and 8 15/16" with the grain
