A Luther Boardman Trade Card

Known American Pewterer Trade Cards are quite scarce. To my knowledge there is one example of Thomas Boardman's and a number of Luther Boardman's.

The English are fortunate to have a considerable number of cards from 18th century makers extant. This is from the period he was in Chester prior to his move to East Haddam.

This card is perfectly preserved. It measures 4 1/8" long by 3 1/2" wide, has nicely engraved images and calligraphy. This was one of my father's (Wendell Hilt) prized possessions.
