A Handsome Large Cup Bristol Export Chalice - SOLD
This large cup chalice is firmly attributed to the shop of Robert Bush Sr. or Jr. and most likely Jr.
This dates from the late 18th century. The base for this chalice was cast in the same mold as the lid on the flagon on this website from the communion set with a New Hampshire history.
This chalice is related to the pair of double drop belly chalices also listed on this site. The shafts are from the same molds with turning variations.
Measuring 6 11/16" to the lip this chalice has a "presence" that is quite impressive. The cup was likely cast in a mold used produce "broth bowls".
In overall fine condition.
