A Unique Form Samuel Danforth Baptismal Bowl - SOLD

This form of footed Samuel Danforth bowl apparently is a unique example by this maker. Samuel worked in Hartford, CT from around 1795-1816.

Samuel is know for a taller version of baptismal bowl with an inverted basin for a foot. This short example also features beautifully turned band on the outside of the bowl, not seen on taller examples.

In very good to fine condition on the exterior and good on the interior surfaces with some pitting. Struck twice with his SD small eagle touch, his "X" an his small hallmarks on the inside bottom.
