A Pint Capacity Pewter Export Beaker by Edmund Grove - SOLD
Pint capacity beaker by Edmund Grove, London 1753-1773. This is a very interesting form in that they are constructed by taking a pint mug body turning it upside down, turning off the base moldings leaving a plain smooth outward flare at the top. The lip molding now on the bottom resembles a foot. A plain pewter disc was used for the bottom.
This beaker measures 4 3/16” tall at the top edge. The top diameter is 3 11/16”. The exterior of the beaker is in very fine condition. The touch is fine as struck. There are four pits on the inside bottom. A scarce handsome form
