A Edinburgh Gill Measure by James Moyes - SOLD

This Gill measure was made by James Moyes the last active pewterer in Edinburgh. Moyes made mugs and measures and the quality of his work was excellent.

His mugs have a design which is a reflection of an earlier period.

This measure is in very good plus condition with a fine cast touch on the inside of the lid. There is a script engraving on the front of the measure which over the years has been worn down.

The height to the thumbpiece is 3 3/4" tall.
