An Engraved Pewter Export Quart Mug

This mug is likely a piece Exported from Bristol, England dating from the last third of the 18th century. If it were marked the mark was weakly struck and none remains.

The outstanding feature are the wonderful initials along with the abbreviation "Junr" for Junior. This engraving is pictured in the Pewter Collectors' Club Book, Collecting Antique Pewter What to Look for and What to Avoid on page 34. This is one of Wayne's favorite pieces.

A most interesting piece. This is 5 7/8" tall to the lip. (W&P)
