A Pint Export Pewter Mug by Edgar Curtis & Co - SOLD

This pint taper-sided pewter mug was produced by the firm of Edgar Curtis & Co of Bristol, England 1793-1801.

They had a successful trade with the United States as indicated by the goodly amount of their product found primarily in New England. Their products included plates, dishes, basins, mugs, tankards, teapots etc.

The quality of their metal often exceeded the usual lower quality metal found in other Bristol produced pewter.

The mug saw considerable use however it is in very good plus condition with a fine "as struck" touch. Lathe marks on the bottom of the mug show clearly.

A export form getting more difficult to find. The mug measures 4 9/16" to the top of the lip of the body.
